Fado Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity

It was Sunday in Bali, Indonesia, that the International Committee of UNESCO, formed by 24 countries, announced Fado as intangible cultural heritage of humanity, a source of pride for all Portuguese. This musical style, typically Lusitanian, represents the soul and the deepest frame of mind of being Portuguese – the “saudade” (there is no translation of this word which is related to the feeling of missing someone or something), sorrow, and pain, but also, to be proud of his country and to have strength to succeed.
